Day 1 of Project Benji
Last night we put Benji in the mudroom for 10 minutes. (baby steps, right?) I left him with a treat so he was quiet for a few minutes before the wimpering started. He only wimpered and barked for a little while. When John let him out, Benji came out tail wagging and happy. So far so good.
Weight Watchers
I tried out a new recipe last night. I got a WW cookbook for Christmas so I tagged a bunch of recipes I wanted to try. I'm going to try to update my blog with pictures when I cook a WW recipe. :-) (although I've misplaced the battery charger for my camera so I'm stuck with iPhone pics for now) I had some flank steak in the freezer so I made an Asian marinade. It was 6 points per serving (3 slices).
The recipe said to marinate it for up to 24 hours. I marinated it overnight and all day. I definitely marinated it too long. I think the citrus in the recipe made the meat too mushy. The flavor was good, but next time I'm just going to marinate it for a couple of hours.
I put my slices over a salad and made a steak salad. Drizzled with some balsamic oil and it was a tasty meal for about 7 points (1 pt for garbanzo beans that I added to the salad).

John got a double portion with a side of butter-laden mashed potatoes. He needs to put on some weight. It's challenging to be on a diet while at the same time trying to fatten up the DH.
