I knew Saturday was going to be a tough WW day for me. For lunch, we had a 1st birthday party to attend at Maggiano's, a local Italian restaurant that serves its food family-style (meaning: humongous portions). My strategy was to eat a huge salad before I went so I could fill myself up a bit with zero point food before I went.
Unfortunately, we were running late so all I had time to do was throw a handful of baby carrots into a ziploc bag to eat in the car.
I was relatively disciplined though (although clearly I could have been better) when I got to Maggiano's since I knew I had pretty much eaten all my flex points the night before at Korean BBQ.
What I ate:
snack
10 baby carrots (0 pts)
lunch
2 cups spinach salad. It was already tossed in dressing (a delicious one at that) and I'm not sure how many points the dressing was or how much of it was on my salad, but I'm just going to take a guess and say this was about 3 pts.
1 cup spaghetti with tomato sauce (6 pts)
3 baby clams (I picked them out of the linguini with white clam sauce dish) - 1 pt
~3 oz portion of baked salmon with spinach (~7 pts?)
2 bites birthday cake (1 pt?)
2 bites apple crostada (2 pts?)
So even though I tried to stay within my daily allotted points, I couldn't. :::sigh::: And I hadn't even eaten dinner yet! And we had dinner plans with my mom! (which means I couldn't go home and just eat a handful of carrots and popcorn and go to bed)
dinner
Soon-doo-boo-jigae (spicy Korean tofu stew)
I shared this with John so I only ate half-ish (if that). But I did eat about a 1/4 cup of rice. I'm guessing all this was about 10 points, tops.
Total points for the day = 30 (points allotted = 18)
::::gulp::::
