Week 8, Day 4 (Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010)

I wish I could say I strictly stuck to my 18 points for the day. Alas, I cannot. :-(

My BFF called asking if DH and I wanted to come over for an early dinner to polish off the Maggiano's leftovers from Saturday. (It was BFF's son's birthday party) Never one to say no to an invitation from the BFF, I accepted.

After dropping Benji off at the groomer's for a much needed haircut, DH and I decided to go to Mimi's Cafe for brunch.

I don't mind going there b/c they have a "lite" menu that are smaller portion sizes and that include nutritional info.

I had the Petite Citrus Salmon - 6 pts

I offered to bring a salad to BFF's b/c I wanted to be able to fill up on zero point veggies in the hopes I would keep my pasta consumption under control.

Dinner:
big plate of salad (mixed greens, romaine lettuce, baby spinach, carrots, grape tomatoes, cucumbers) tossed with low-cal/low-fat dressing (1 pt for the dressing)
1/2 cup spaghetti with marinara sauce (3 pts)
1/2 cup linguini with white clam sauce (3 pts)
~3 oz salmon with spinach (when I ate this on Saturday, I thought it was the healthy option for protein. When I saw the cold leftovers, I realized there was a lot of butter in this dish. gah!! It's yummy though (obviously, considering the amount of butter in this thing), so I took a small piece that was sitting on top and not immersed in the buttery sauce. (6 pts?)
1 cup red grapes (1 pt)

Total Points consumed = 20 pts (gah!! over again!!)
