I met a friend at the Baltimore Harbor for dinner. We decided to pick the restaurant when we got there since we didn't really know what was up there... which means I couldn't google in advance.
We chose Houlihan's because I figured they'd at least have some salad with grilled chicken options. Their menu specified "healthy, low-cal meals" with a star. I was surprised when not a single salad entree had a star next to it! So I ended up getting the Grilled Jumbo Shrimp entree. It was described as jumbo shrimp marinated in lime juice over a bed of greens with grilled asparagus and panzanella bread.
It looked like two skewers of grilled shrimp over an arugula salad with a few spears of asparagus, tossed with some sort of vinaigrette. And two slices of toast on the side. I skipped eating the toast, but polished off everything else.
I just got home to look up the nutritional info online so I could calculate the points... and it's a whopping 12 points!!!! WTH???? Sure, it was relatively "low-cal" at 556 points, but what's the deal with 26 grams of fat???!!
seriously? that's false advertising!!!
UGH. that's what happens if you don't do some googling of the restaurant menu before eating out. Let that be a lesson learned, ladies.
And holy cow!!! I just checked the nutritional values of the salads at Houlihan's! Pre-WW, I wouldn't have thought twice to order the Buffalo Bleu Salad (buffalo chicken strips over a salad) and that thing is a whopping 36 points!!!! THIRTY-SIX!!! OH MY GAH!!!!! No wonder it didn't have the "low calorie star" next to it!
I wonder how many people out there think they're eating something healthy b/c they ordered a salad entree??! I know I used to!! I might as well have a greasy burger!!
Suddenly my 12 point shrimp meal isn't looking that terrible! I'm definitely crossing Houlihan's off my list of acceptable places to dine out at.
I'm fully expecting the scale to go up tomorrow. ::::sigh::::
I really need to start adding in some activity points.
How do I get motivated to exercise??
